Unfortunately, to his family's dismay, at the very young age of nine, Justin was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes. With little understanding of what was happening to him and to his health his Dad decided to take him on a cross country motorcycle ride to show him that regardless of his diagnosis, it did not need to define who he is, and he could continue to live a normal and happy life. They visited Nashville, TN., St. Augustine, FL., Washington D.C., and visited his Grandma Mary Shoemaker in Dubois, PA and then back to Colorado. The trip was about 4,000 miles and the memories of the motorcycle trip will always be cherished by his dad. Justin lost his battle with Juvenile Diabetes September 30, 2012. Justin truly is our HERO and will forever be deeply missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing him! We love you Justin.
